Ray Slack (in the red cap) was in the center of the Hotlanta pool party crowd in 1991, which isn’t surprising: from this moment in 1991 through the Gay Games IV in NYC in August 1994, I must have run into Ray on a half dozen occasions. He was both popular and ubiquitous. I ran into him in Atlanta twice (1991 and 1992), South Beach a couple of times, Washington, D.C. (for the national LGBTQ march in 1993), and the Gay Games in NYC.
