While I was preparing to leave the HotLanta pool party in 1992, I observed this group of very muscular, handsome gay white men load into their truck and depart. I was bemused by its fidelity to several macho heterosexual tropes: a pickup truck, construction boots, bathing suits and shorts that were not as short as gays often wore them, etc. But, straight signals or not, make no mistake about it: these guys were as gay as they come.
