Hotlanta circuit party weekend, late August 1991, on the Chattahoochee River (an hour outside of Atlanta). Hotlanta weekend included bar / disco parties and private parties from Thursday night through Monday of the circuit party weekend. On Sunday morning, many revelers traveled to the Chattahoochee River outside of Atlanta for a raft “race” which consisted of participants occupying a raft, bringing beer and other refreshments, and traveling down the river while intentionally bumping into other rafts (like “bump ‘em cars at carnivals). This photo shows how it looked. The next year, I was so exhausted from three nights of bar hopping and a private pool party on Saturday afternoon (illustrated by photos in this collection) that I couldn’t drag my body out of bed early enough to get to the raft race.
