Adrian Smith, Matthew Stuart, and me on Fowler Beach in Southampton in the summer of 1991. We were all part of Gotham Volleyball, the gay men’s league in Manhattan, and also played a lot of beach volleyball in the summer. There are too many of those who appear in my photos who have passed away already in one way or another. But, I saw Adrian and his husband in NYC for dinner in October 2025, and Matthew came to my photographic exhibition in Palm Springs in the same month, where this photo was one of those featured.
