This photo and the next were taken in the parking lot at gay Fowler Beach in Southampton, New York, in September 1993, as we prepared to leave the ocean and return home to our pool. The pic includes just Gustavo and Frances, the Labrador Retriever (?) owned by Robby Browne, regarded as “Mr. Gay New York” because of his generosity and kindness towards the many newly arrived gays and lesbians who were referred to him for help adjusting to the intensity of NYC. He always owned a lab (the next one was Lois), along with his powder-blue 1955 Chrysler convertible. Robby unfortunately passed away from the double whammy of cancer and COVID in April 2020.
