At the conclusion of the Gay Games III in Vancouver in August 1990, many of us competing on behalf of our local teams were ready to cut loose and have some fun. The next day, hundreds of gay athletes descended upon Vancouver’s clothing-optional beach, Wreck Beach, just a few miles outside the city, nestled in a grove of unlogged old-growth firs and cedars. I took this photo of a naked vendor traversing the beach while offering beverages for sale. The trio of perfectly placed butt cheeks reminded me of overlapping mountain ranges at sunset.
